Many councillors including Rick Chiarelli were exposed in 2005, when a promise that would help our children breath better was broken.

In 2002 Rick Chiarelli, Mayor Bob Chiarelli, Georges Bedard, Michel Bellemare, Alex Cullen, Clive Doucet, Peggy Feltmate, Diane Holmes, Peter Hume,Jacques Legendre, Janet Stavinga Rainer Bloess, Glenn Brooks, Diane Deans Jan Harder, Gord Hunter, Doug Thompson, Eli El-Chantiry, Rob Jellett, Shawn Little, Maria McRae as candidates for city councillor in the 2003 municipal elections in Ottawa made a promise to our community to support a ban on pesticides. A promise that would protect our babies, and teenagers, and reduce risk of harm to expecting mothers. The pesticide's being sprayed were found to be harmful to our children and ourselves. Our community wanted a pesticide bylaw put in action if by 2005 there was no reduction in pesticides.

After being voted into city council Rainer Bloess, Glenn Brooks, Diane Deans Jan Harder, Gord Hunter, Doug Thompson, Eli El-Chantiry, Rob Jellett, Shawn Little, Maria McRae and Rick Chiarelli backed off and reneged on their promise to us and our children by refusing to support the ban on pesticides.

Without honesty a city cannot run. A community needs our city councillors to be honest, we don't need lies. And something so important that is affecting our children to this day was denied.

They lied to you and diseived our children. I am an expecting mother and I am ashamed of what our city has done for our community. We need a change, not just any change but an Honest change. A safe clean enviroment for our children to grow up in, and a councillor that cares, and takes the time to know your concerns. An honest councillor, who works together with our mayor and other councillors. Lets take back city hall and our city. Let us all feel safe about the air our children breath and the grass they play in.
