Dear Everyone in my ward,



I would like to share with you my thoughts' and opinions on the upcoming election and what shell follow. I also want to tell you about who I am and why I think your vote is safe with me. My full name is Laura Lee Doupe, my friends and family call me Dee. I will not say I am perfect, what I will say is I know I can make a difference.
I would like you to know a bit about who I am, and what I have done regarding Ottawa. In 2004 I was helping Jane Scharf with a protest involving the police brutality that many of the street youth and elderly, including Jane and myself were suffering from. I have always been a fighter when it came to my rights or anothers rights being violated. I had a rough growing up so I made a promise I would never let someones rights be violated if I could help it. I am not going to lie I have a temper, I am not the type that can stand around and watch anybody be overpowered when I can help.


The reason I am running is I believe I have done all I can with protesting, it is time to go right to the seed and fix the problem. City hall is being run by people who I know have shown the whole city they are not here to make a difference. For some people it is all about money and power. I have always been one for proof, and I know Election after election has gone by and you have been given promises not proof. I don't have much proof to give you that I will do my best for our city. But throughout this time until the elections I hope I can meet the majority of you and let you know I am being honest and my plans are not like Rick Chiarellis'. When I promise you something then I plan to keep it. I don't know how Rick Chiarelli was raised but promises are not meant to be broken. I want you all to know I have lived in the slums, I have been the slums, and I am here to make our childrens and our future better. I am only one person, but with sopport I can do anything and so can my other fellow canadates, the right councillors, the right mayor and we will have a city we can be proud of, a city that sticks together and cares about their neighbours.
